Anreise

Travelling to Graz:

Graz has an international airport (IATA code GRZ) with daily connections to Dusseldorf, Frankfurt, Munich, Vienna, and Zurich.

Graz Hauptbahnhof (Main Station) offers connection to all major surrounding cities.

Getting to the City from the Airport:

By taxi: A cab ride to the inner city costs around 20-30 € (but public transportation generally works well and offers a cheaper alternative).

By train: A train ride with commuter trains to Graz Main Station takes about 15 minutes. The train station is around 300m outside the terminal (the route is well signposted). The train "S5" to Graz leaves at least once an hour and stops at Graz Main Station ("Graz Hauptbahnhof"). The tickets need to be bought before the ride and are available at the ticket machines on the platform. For more information on tickets see below.

By bus:  A bus ride to the inner city takes about 20 minutes. The bus stop is right outside the terminal near the departure area. The buses 630/631 terminate at Graz "Jakominiplatz" (the central transfer point within the city). Tickets are available from the bus driver, for more information on tickets see below.

Public Transportation Tickets:

Public transportation in Graz consists of buses and trams. 
The ticket system offers varios possibilities, the most popular are:
One-hour-ticket: 2,50€
24-hour-ticket: 5,50€
72-hour-tourist-ticket: 12,90€ (This ticket also includes discounts on various sightseeing destinations.)
These tickets are valid within zone 101.

All trams as well as some tram stations have ticket machines available. Please note: Payment is only possible with coins or credit card (banknotes will not be accepted).
In buses, tickets are available from the bus driver. Please note: Only one-hour- and 24-hour-tickets are available, payment is possible with coins and banknotes (but banknotes only up to a very small amount).
